National Stock Exchange of India
The NSE was established in 1992 and recognized as a stock exchange in 1993. The NSE lists and trades securities on the cash market and derivatives market. The cash market can be classified into the equity cash market for equities and equity-linked securities, the debt market of the cash segment can be classified for fixed income securities. The derivatives markets trades across equities, fixed income, currencies, and commodities.
The Business Model of NSE
The National Stock Exchange’s business model comprises exchange listing, trading services, clearing and settlement services, indices, market data feeds, technology solutions, and financial education offerings. The derivatives market offers trading opportunities in various forms of derivatives, such as futures and options and domestic and global indices. The clearing and settlement are handled by NSE’s subsidiary NCL to support members throughout the life cycle of the trade.

Financial Highlights for FY2019-2020

NSE Unlisted Shares Transfer Process
National Stock Exchange of India Shares cannot by bought by everyone. The buyer must be approved by the NSE board before shares can be transferred in his name. NSE reviews the profile of the buyer of NSE unlisted shares to ensures that he is a fit and proper person. Moreover, NSE unlisted shares are bought / sold in lots of atleast 50,000 – 100,000 shares. Therefore it is difficult for retail investors to buy NSE unlisted shares and they may have no choice but to wait for IPO.

It is widely expected that NSE will also follow the footsteps of BSE and come up with an IPO soon. As NSE has been declared world’s largest derivatives exchange in terms of number of contracts traded for the second time by the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE), the demand for unlisted shares has gone up and investors are eagerly waiting for the IPO.
